The Chanel Jacket

It’s a classic and been copied over thousands of times. Coco Chanel created her signature jacket in the 1950s, as part of the reopening of her maison in Paris, and it has been part of the Chanel collections ever since.

Fabric, colour, trim, shape, length have all been revisited many times by Coco and Karl. This jacket is an investment piece and will never go out of style because it is style. Paired with jeans, skirts, wide trousers, narrow trousers or over a dress – the possibilities are endless.

A brief online shopping search turned up several versions of the jacket inspired by the original. My favourite is the down filled version from Uniqlo. So want this!

I created this jacket using japanese papers and found an origami way to twist narrow strips of paper to create the strands of pearls.
