Black Friday Wrap-up

Another Black Friday passes but the deals live on as fabulous additions to my wardrobe. The CF Eaton Centre provided some good deals but the deep discounts were on previously reduced apparel.

Best Score

These Blondi boots I got at Nordstrom and they were an additional 25% off the Fall Sale price. They are leather, water proof and felt lined. They will be my go-to boot before the snow flies. I love this cognac colour because I can wear it with black skinny trousers or tights. A darker brown would have limited my looks.

Sweater Season

A picked up a great sweater from Zara. It has built in accessories with the pearl embellished neckline. It has short sleeves which helps keep me cool when the office is warm and dry. I love this classic look when combined with a camel cardigan.

Artsy

Uniqlo’s recent contribution to Art meets Fashion is a collab with contemporary artist KAWS. KAWS is well known for his work using iconic figures like Snoopy and Pinocchio. It was mayhem at the Uniqlo store for this collection. I am not a huge Snoopy fan but I do like the idea of wearable art and have a few pieces from previous Uniqlo collections so I tried on this hoodie and liked the fit.

ORANGE CRUSH

I mentioned yesterday that Black Friday Shopping needs to be strategic. Another consideration is resort wear or Spring/Summer items. Tops with short sleeves or light coloured apparel work well for both categories.

I love the colour orange for summer or hot climates. It works really well with my skin tone and is a happy, vibrant colour. I found this top on the clearance rack at Anthropologie and knew I needed it for my pre-Christmas get-away to Florida.

I love the drape of this top and also the sheer tone-on-tone striped fabric of the back. What’s also great is that the top was an additional 25% off the reduced price.

That wraps up Black Friday Fashion Week. Hope you enjoyed reading about my haul. Please tell me about the deals you scored!

AFTER DARK

Black Friday Shopping is not just about the deals it’s about making strategic purchase decisions. Business attire, athleisure, jeans, and party wear should all be considered when hunting for deals.

I picked up this great Zara top for $21. It has a printed silky front and cotton back. Perfect with leggings and heels for after work cocktails or a casual holiday party. I’m using my Kate Spade clutch to carry essentials like phone, cash, keys and Chanel lipstick. Happy Holiday Party season everyone!

RANDOM CATNESS

I’m not a huge cat lady but they are my preferred family pet.  catThere is cat stuff everywhere, cat emoticons, cat videos and of course cat tops!

KS_catI recently saw a Kate Spade cat sweatshirt during their 70% off sale but wanted to wait for Black Friday and I’m so glad I did!

My shirt (lead image) is from Anthropologie and it’s  so comfortable. It has a drapey fit but doesn’t cling or look over-sized. From a distance, it looks like a random white pattern but close up you can see the cute little cat faces.

I’m wearing this shirt layered with a black cami. Not shown are the Vera Wang black leggings and black leather riding boots to finish the outfit.

Tomorrow it’s all about tweed.

BLUE MONDAY

The first Black Friday item I chose to wear was this great jacket from Anthropologie. The cuffs are what drew me in and then I loved the distressed look to the fabric and the trims. The plaid fabric used in the back really sets this piece apart from other jackets.

I wearing it today with a grey tee from Ann Taylor Loft and a faux pearl necklace from Target. Not shown are the dark wash NYDJ skinnies and navy wedge booties from Cole Hahn.

Tomorrow the cat will be out of the bag!
